The City Hall Tower

Stockholm City Hall (Stadshuset) is one of the city’s most iconic landmarks and a must-see for visitors to Stockholm. Beautifully situated on the waterfront of Kungsholmen, the building is instantly recognisable by its striking red-brick façade — constructed from over eight million bricks — and its elegant tower crowned with the Three Crowns, Sweden’s national emblem.

Completed in 1923 after twelve years of construction, City Hall is considered a masterpiece of Swedish National Romantic architecture. In addition to serving as the seat of the Stockholm City Council, it is internationally renowned as the venue of the annual Nobel Prize Banquet, held each December in the magnificent Blue Hall.

Visitors may explore the interior by guided tour only. Tours last approximately 45 minutes and offer fascinating insight into the history, architecture, and ceremonial halls of this remarkable building
