Public Transportation in Stockholm and to/from the Airport
Metro
The Stockholm Metro is more than just a transit system, it is a 110-kilometer-long art exhibition. With over 100 stations featuring unique paintings, sculptures, and mosaics, your commute is often as scenic as the destination itself.
Lines: There are three main lines: Green, Red, and Blue. All of them converge at the city's central hub.
Tickets: You don’t need a paper ticket, you can simply tap your contactless credit card (Visa, Mastercard, or Amex) or mobile phone at the glass barriers. Each tap is valid for 75 minutes of unlimited travel across metros, buses, and even some ferries.
T-Centralen is the closest metro stop from the hotel, maximum a 5-minute walk. It is the primary interchange for all lines, making it the easiest starting point for any excursion.
Tram
If you are planning to visit the Vasa Museum, ABBA The Museum, Skansen, or Gröna Lund, Tram 7 is your best friend. It is the only tram line in the city center and is designed specifically to take you to the heart of the Djurgården island.
The starting point for Tram 7 is the T-Centralen (Spårv) stop, located on the street level at Klarabergsgatan, 6-minute walk from Sheraton.
The Experience: The route takes you past the Royal Dramatic Theatre and along the harbor at Strandvägen.
Vintage Charm: On weekends and during the summer, look out for the 7N (Djurgårdslinjen) these are beautiful heritage vintage trams from the early 20th century.
Payment: Just like the Metro, you can tap your contactless card on the reader inside the tram.
